Call it a Revolution:

Well the buzz on the intraweb is the new Revolution Controller for Nintendo. I don't know really what to say about this but it's certainly got my attention. A glorified remote it is, but one has to think about exactly how people will embrace this new technology, both on the consumer side and the developer side. If anything, this new controller will open the floodgates for quirky Japanese game developers to develop Super Bass Fishing Extreme as well with other alternative sport like games.

But as developers praise it for it's unqiue ability, I just wonder how willing they will be when it comes time to develop it. The thing is ultimately you are going to develop a game specifically for one system if you develop for the Revolution utilizing it's controller's fullest abilities. At that moment, risk has already risen because you can't exactly permeate the market as greatly as if you had the ability to port the game to the two other existing consoles.

Do companies really want to take that kind of risk? I guess we have to wait until the fans decide on that. One thing that seems to go well in their way is that now game specific periphials like Kongo Drums and Light Guns seem to be useless now when it comes to the Revolution controller since now developers could just program in the appropriate specific use.

Battle Poll Update

Tis a sad week, more aggrivating than usual. Two big mistakes has caused me to lose battle polls involving Poo and Vanessa. I knew it was a long shot from the start, but I hate losing, everyone hates losing. Anyways the outcome of Poo was VS. Kirby. How a fucker like Kirby could possibly win against Poo. Especially considering the use of "logic" that appears in the early rounds of the battle poll.

Poo defeated pure evil and has access to elemental powers that can blast Kirby out of the fucking arena. His keepaway game should be good enough that he doesn't need to get within Kirby's sucking ability. For the those who don't know, Kirby can suck in enemy characters and absorb their powers.

What's even more in my favour is the fact that Poo has a mirror ability. He can temporarily take the shape of his enemy and use their powers. Considering that Kirby is basically a sentient pink cotton ball, and Poo is trained in forms of combat, a mirrored Kirby should be able to beat the original one.

However most aggrivating was that I lost by one vote. Not because it could have been tied, because it did end up being a tie. Instead it was because some guy voted for Kirby in the tie breaker. The problem? A person on the boards who actually voted for Poo didn't vote for the other matches happening during the day. Usually there are four matches that take place each weekday. If you don't vote for all the matches, your vote(s) don't count.

My other character Vanessa sadly was placed again I-no. Finally tally was 27-24 for I-No. There's nothing much to say in favour for Vanessa since it was an uphill battle, but she was a particular favorite in my team. I guess when it does come down to it, you do grow attatched to your characters. Well the mistake that happened to me is when I decided to use the assist.

The assist is basically calling in your team member (each character having a different type of assist) and causing something to happen in your favour, or even potentially against you. Poo had his mirror ability, Vanessa had her punches, and Agent 47 had his ability to snipe someone for 1 of 3 randomly determined outcomes:

Legs: no attacks against me (no votes against me count)
Head: +Two votes for me
Arms: Opponent cannot break stock.

Now stupidly of me to ask, I wanted to get the headshot, without even realizing that it will not give me the edge to win. When a character breaks stock, it basically means you get extra votes. Stupid, but hey everyone does it. If I only asked for the arms I would have taken the bloody thing. It didn't matter because seriously, the assist was random anyways.

Well Agent 47 is left. Here's hoping for good luck.

As for the mentioned B-Poll, my first task is POO from Earthbound vs. Kirby. I'll add more later, but above is my avatar that I will be sporting ALL through the polls...that is until I either get eliminated or if I will be going to the finals (which I doubt), but I truly wish to survive past the first round. It's a lofty goal, but nevertheless very fullfilling at the least.
